Our al fresco waterfront terrace is The Alderton’s most storied event space. Framed by climbing roses, old-growth magnolias, and lit by a canopy of Edison string lights at dusk, it captures the very essence of a Chesapeake summer. The Terrace hosts cocktail hours, garden-style ceremonies, seated dinners under the open sky, and Sunday morning brunches that feel like nothing else in Annapolis.

The Ballroom

The grand ballroom was built in 1897 and painstakingly restored over three years to honor its original grandeur while meeting every modern standard for comfort and technology. Twelve-foot windows flood the space with natural light by day; at night, the original crystal chandeliers and restored crown moulding create an atmosphere that no modern ballroom can replicate. This is the stage for Annapolis’s most memorable celebrations.

For those who prefer intimate over grand, The Library is The Alderton’s most beloved space. A working fireplace, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, leather chesterfields, and warm candlelight create a sense of warmth and privacy that larger rooms simply cannot. Perfect for elopements, rehearsal dinners, micro-weddings, anniversary dinners, and the kind of private meals that become family legend.

The Plated Dinner

Three-course seated dinner with your choice of starters, mains, and desserts from our seasonal menu. Includes wine pairing on request, custom printed menus, and table florals by our in-house team.

The Station Reception

Five curated food stations featuring Chesapeake raw bar, charcuterie & cheese, carving station, passed appetizers, and a dessert display. Perfect for cocktail-style celebrations.

The Cocktail Hour

From $95 per guest

Three-hour cocktail reception with butler-passed hors d’oeuvres (choose eight), open bar, and a welcome punch or Champagne toast. Ideal for rehearsal dinners and post-ceremony gatherings.
